Learn how to install BIKE T9 in the fork steerer tube

Step #1

COMPATIBILITY: BIKE T9 is compatible with 1 - 1/8″ forks, with a minimum lower opening diameter of 24 mm. The expander can reach a maximum diameter of 26mm.

Note: NOT compatible with double crown forks.

INSTALLATION: Follow these simple steps in pictures, or watch the video at the top of the page.

First, make sure the fork steerer tube is perfectly clean and degreased. If there is no room to maneuver when inserting the device, remove any mudguards and the bike's wheel.

Loosen the expander by rotating the end of the device, making sure the rubber seals remain aligned in place (pictured, on the left end). Remove the rubber protective cap from the device.

Step #2

Insert the device into the fork steerer, up to the end indicated by the label. If inserted further in, the device's GPS antenna will not function correctly!

Step #3

Apply the fixing tool to the protruding end, holding the device in position.

Widen the expander by rotating the tool and continue until fully tightened, using only hand strength (do not use other tools).

Step #4

Once the installation is complete, remove the fastening tool and check that the device is securely in place. Apply the rubber cap to protect it from water and dust. Done!

  • THREADLOCKER FASTENING:

    For a more durable tightening, the BIKE T9 package also includes threadlocker liquid. You can apply a few drops to the device's screw when loosening the expander. Afterward, install it into the fork steerer, as indicated above, and leave the bike stationary for about an hour for the threadlocker to set.


    IMPORTANT:

    1. If you plan to perform stunts or jumps that could cause the shock absorber to reach its full travel, it is mandatory to remove the device beforehand.

    2. The rubber protective cap must always be applied to the device.

    3. Do not direct water jets onto the area where the device is installed; you can use a damp cloth instead.

    4. Every month, ensure that the device is perfectly tightened to the fork tube. If not, retighten as necessary with the fastening tool.
